Cherishing our legacy and continuing to enrich it with new creations: these are the cornerstones of Dutch National Ballet’s repertoire and of this opening programme for the 2026 – 2027 season.

George Balanchine’s sparkling Symphony in C is a tribute to the grandeur of classical ballet. Another highlight is Requiem by Toer van Schayk, set to Mozart’s masterpiece, which we are reviving to celebrate his ninetieth birthday. New to Dutch National Ballet is Simple Things by Hans van Manen, a dynamic quartet that merges movement and music with exceptional clarity. Finally, the world premiere of a new production by Kirsten Wicklund set to Willem Jeths’ Monument to a Universal Marriage.
